A Brief history of Saker Baptiste College Limbe - Cameroon
Saker Baptist College (SBC) was established by the Baptist mission as the Baptist Girls Secondary
School on January 29, 1962. It was later known as the Cameroon Christian College before being
renamed Saker Baptist College in the 1960s in honour of Alfred Saker—a name it still holds today.
The institution continues as an all-girls secondary school, which began when, on January 29th,
36 students first entered its gates.
History of Overcomers Global
The “Overcomers Global Sakerettes Class of 93-95” is a registered alumni association composed of one hundred former students from the distinguished Saker Baptist College Limbe in Cameroon,
West Africa. Eighty-eight of these girls first made their entrance to the College and was, joined by others along the way, while others entered as high school students.
This global group includes former Saker students now living across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Its members are entrepreneurs, medical professionals, educators, academics, financiers,
religious leaders, lawyers, engineers, scientists, lawmakers and politicians. The association’s purpose is to foster pride and commitment to their alma mater while preserving its legacy and
ensuring its continued success.
They aim to provide lasting value to Saker Baptist College by creating a platform that strengthens bonds of sisterhood, built on mutual respect and support for one another and the institution.
The group has supported scholarship programs, organised humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives, and contributed to school infrastructure projects, demonstrating their commitment to making a meaningful impact,
not just to their Institution and themselves, but to society as a whole.
Our green and light green combination dress was traditionally worn on Sundays for church services.
This outfit also served as our official attire for events outside campus on national days, such as 11th February and 20th May,
when we participated in the march pass—a ceremonial parade in which we represented our institution, as seen in the picture above.
The yellow T-shirt and blue skirt formed a class-specific outfit, commonly worn around campus after the school day ended.
This casual attire was traditionally known as "compie," a term used for comfortable out of class wear.
In the photo on the right, a group of students—then referred to as " the kangaroos”,
now “the overcomers" highlighting our collective school spirit—is shown gathered in the refectory.
Our Mission, Vision and Values

- To enhance the sense of pride and commitment to our alma mater, while safeguarding its legacy and continuity.
- To provide long-term value to our reputable institution by creating a platform where we can continue to interact, respect and support each other as well as the institution.
- To establish meaningful and beneficial connections and relationships among sisters that are essential in enhancing our personal as well as career developments. While also forming long-term economically beneficial
collaborative partnerships.
- To encourage continous personal growth and development through educational initiatives such as expert talks from both our internal and external stakeholders.
- To evaluate the needs and personal situations of our global sisters of the class of 93-95 and see how best we can lend our support to ensure improvement in Livelihood.
- To engage in community outreach through the provision of scholarships to the girl child within the region to Saker Baptist College, while also attending to long or short-term needs of the local community or region.
We wore yellow t-shirts and blue skirts as our compound wear.
In addition to these, there were many other colours, including green and light orange dresses.
These outfits can be seen in the photo above and among the girls wearing the green uniform,
